Michael McKean - Principal

With over 40 years’ experience in Financial Services, Michael has a wealth of experience gained from various positions across a wide range of financial institutions such as NAB, Metway, HFC Finance and Suncorp. 

Michael has been the driving force of Metsure since 2008 growing an Advice, Insurance Broking and Mortgage practice from a small boutique operation to servicing a network of clients Australia Wide. 

One thing that Michael prides himself on and installs in the team is ’look after the client and the client will look after you’. It is this way of thinking which motivates his team to do their very best for the client on each and every occasion.

Michael is a strong supporter of local charities and community sporting teams around the Sunshine Coast for a number of years.

When Michael is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and his 4 beautiful children.

 
 
 

Jeff Ward - Account Manager

When he’s not immersed in the world of risk assessment and insurance solutions, you’ll find him dedicating precious moments to his family, participating in marathons, or indulging in moments of relaxation with a quiet beverage. Ian Gerber - Director Metsure Finance

 Ian is a lending specialist who is across all aspects of personal, residential and business lending. After 22 years working for NAB across south east Queensland, Ian moved into finance broking in 2007 to provide his clients a personal ‘relationship style’ service they deserve. Ian’s expertise and experience enables him to provide honest, reliable, accurate and professional advice. His country upbringing and genuine nature makes clients feel comfortable and enjoy doing business with him.

He is an experienced, fully qualified and accredited broker who goes ‘above and beyond’ for his clients. He has been giving trusted advice for many years, which has led to an impeccable reputation and respect amongst clients and piers.

Outside work, Ian is a keen gardener, avid traveller and dog lover.

 
 
 

Elliott McKean - Account Executive

Over the years, Elliott has gained extensive experience in various aspects of the business, and now helps Michael manage the insurance broking side of the family business. Elliott’s role involves ensuring our clients receive the best possible insurance solutions tailored to their needs. Elliott is passionate about providing exceptional service and building strong, lasting relationships with our clients.

Elliott is a keen bike rider and when he is not in the office, he is riding around the coast, enjoying a coffee or two.

 
 
 

Emma McKean - Claims Manager / Financial Planner Assistant

Emma Joined the Metsure team in 2020 and completed her Bachelor or Commerce majoring in Financial Planning and Human Resource Management. Emma is a dedicated team member who provides all our clients with the highest level of personalised and professional service. Emma manages our claims department and assists Michael in the Financial Planning side of the business.

When not in the office, Emma enjoys keeping active and loves spending time at the Coast’s beautiful beaches and amazing coffee shops.

 
 
 

Corey Garth - Account Executive

Having spent the last 18 years the insurance industry, Corey Garth is a seasoned professional who started his career in the direct market and working his way up the ranks from customer service consultant to team leader before moving into the brokering world. His career has been marked by a pursuit to create an experience that is both easy for his clients while making sure to understand a client’s risk appetite and creating an insurance program that suits their needs.

Corey has recently relocated to the Sunshine Coast from New Zealand with his partner having spent many holidays here. When he is not working you will find him in the gym, exploring the many different cafes and coffee spots or out on the ocean enjoying the many different dive sites the coast has to offer.

Corey is looking forward to settling into life on the coast and building strong relationships with both existing and new Metsure clients.
